Hi there and thanks for visiting!
I’m Mark, the owner and main contributor of Proper Footwear. I live in Solihull, West Midlands, and the idea of creating this website came out of a personal frustration: suffering from plantar fasciitis.
My old job used to sometimes involve standing on my feet for 6-8 hours straight. Unfortunately, It took me longer than it should have to realise that the pain I was experiencing wasn’t normal.
But long story short – I’ve been there. I’ve been trying to find the most comfortable shoes for my condition. And fortunately (or unfortunately, whichever way you want to look at it), I’ve been through many different pairs along the years.
Hence the reason I created this website – to share my ‘footwear knowledge’ with all of you so that you wouldn’t have to repeat the same mistakes. I paid quite a lot of money for shoes that didn’t helped me at all and, at the same time, paid pennies for trainers that do wonders.
At the same time, each individuals’ feet structure is different. Some of us might need wide shoes while others feel just right in a standard pair. But when it comes to plantar fasciitis, it all comes down to the cushioning and ankle support. Therefore, the same rules apply.
So stick around and let’s make this website a useful resource that will benefit us all. Not just those of us suffering from this condition but for everyone looking to decide what footwear suits them best.
My future plan is to invite different people/experts to contribute with information in those areas that I lack knowledge in.
If you have any suggestions regarding the content or website in general, please get in touch with me using the contact form or sending an e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Olivia is a regular contributor and my long-time, good friend so she definitely deserves her spot in here. She actually runs her own quizzing website so it wasn’t very hard for me to convince her to contribute in here as she’s quite used to writing different types of content.
She’s passionate about everything girlish and stylish – basically, everything else I lack the knowledge on. So I’m delighted to have her here, to say the least.
